In the ordinance on the facts of the prison of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, reference is made to an audio of a communication recorded between a prisoner and a family member which the guarantor then forwarded to the prosecutor. In the ordinance it is written that on 8 April 2020, Prof. Samuele Ciambrello, as Guarantor of persons subjected to measures restricting personal freedom in Campania, forwarded to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of SMCV an expositive letter with reference to the episodes that occurred on 5 and 6 April 2020 at the Prison of Santa Maria Capua Vetere – “Nilo” Department -, reporting, in particular, alleged mistreatment of detainees by personnel of the Penitentiary Police “. In the report, the guarantor” referred to some recordings of telephone conversations that took place between the inmates restricted in the aforementioned ward and their families, which were consequently published on the social networks Facebook “.
