The African family, residing in Dolcedo, a town in the hinterland of Imperia, panicked did not wait for the ambulance to arrive and transported the little girl to the hospital by car, where she arrived already dead. The attempts at resuscitation were useless. On the spot, the agents of the Flying Squad committed to ascertaining the causes of death. Contrasting the versions provided by the parents, who at first declared that the child was playing with her brother, then that she fell from the cot. (by Silvia Mancinelli)
