Italy becomes all dark red, the color that marks the maximum epidemiological risk for Covid, in the map published by the ECDC, just updated by the EU agency based in Stockholm. All of Western and Southern Europe is in dark red, along with Scandinavia, the three Baltic States and much of Central and Eastern Europe. In red, the band that signals a slightly less serious risk, only Romania, part of Hungary and a large part of Poland remain. Neither region is yellow or green, the colors that signal a lower risk. The map is still based only on the number of positive cases, which with the Omicron variant are rising everywhere, recorded in 14 days per 100 thousand inhabitants, and on the percentage of positive tests out of the total number of tests done.
