Italian terrorists in France, hearings in Paris postponed between late March and late April

The hearings of the 9 former Italian terrorists who were arrested in France in April 2021 and who today presented themselves to the Paris Court of Appeal have been postponed between the end of March and the end of April. The postponement of the hearings was granted to allow the examination of the complement of information on the requests for extradition of former Italian terrorists provided by Italy. Documents that according to the defense lawyers are still incomplete. During today’s hearings, which was also attended by the Italian liaison magistrate in Paris, Roberta Collidà, the dates for the next hearings were set. The hearing for the former Brigadier Enzo Calvitti was set for next March 23, the same day the hearing of Giorgio Pietrostefani, the former Lotta Continua militant, was scheduled a few days ago. For the former Br Giovanni Alimonti and for the former member of the organization of the Armed Nuclei counter-territorial power Narciso Manenti, the new hearing has been set for 30 March; for the former Br Roberta Cappelli and Marina Petrella the new hearing is scheduled for April 6. The hearing of the ex militant of Autonomia Operaia, Raffaele Ventura was set for April 13, while for April 20 the hearings of the ex militant of the armed proletarians Luigi Bergamin and of the ex Br Maurizio Di Marzio have been set. For Di Marzio, who had fled the ‘Red Shadows’ operation at the end of April and who was arrested in Paris in July, the additional information requested in November is still pending. The European arrest warrant for the former militant of the Red Brigades was rejected but the extradition procedure still stands. As for the former militant of the Armed Proletarians Luca Bergamin, the decision of the Court of Cassation expected in February is awaited to understand if the prescription has taken effect. “We have difficulty understanding how it is possible that for cases that should have been prepared for a long time we do not manage to have all the required documents”, explains to Adnkronos Irene Terrel, the French lawyer for seven of the ten former terrorists arrested in France. .
