Camorra, Casalesi ‘proclaims’ in court: third ‘change of location’ for one of the proceedings

Thirteen years after the reading in a courtroom of the ‘proclamation’ against magistrates and journalists during the ‘Spartacus’ appeal process against the Casalesi clan, a new ‘change of location’ arrives for one of the proceedings born from those events. A decision that comes after several postponements for legitimate impediments due to the covid of the start of the second degree trial which sees the defendants the lawyer Michele Santonastaso, former defender of the Casalesi boss Francesco Bidognetti, the same Bidognetti and the former chieftain Antonio Iovine, now repented. In the first instance Santonastaso was sentenced to five and a half years for libel and slander aggravated by the mafia method while the bosses of the Casalesi clan were acquitted for not having committed the crime. Sentence challenged by the prosecutors of the Rome prosecutor’s office. In the ‘proclamation’ at the center of the proceedings, in addition to the magistrates Federico Cafiero De Raho and Cantone, reference was also made to the journalist Rosaria Capacchione and the writer Roberto Saviano. And less than a month ago in the capital for Santonastaso a sentence of one year and two months had arrived also in relation to the proceedings for the threats addressed in the courtroom to the two journalists.
