Ravanusa, a square will remember the victims: mayor, “we are working on the redevelopment project”

Palermo, 31 Dec. – In Ravanusa, in the place where last December 11 an explosion sowed devastation and death, a square could be built dedicated to the nine victims of the tragedy. This is the project that the municipal administration headed by the mayor Carmelo D’Angelo is working on. “With the governor Nello Musumeci we have agreed a meeting between New Year’s Eve and Epiphany, with the Minister of Infrastructure Giovannini, however, the appointment is for the second / third decade of January”, the mayor told Adnkronos. On the table there is the urban reconstruction and regeneration project that will affect the neighborhood injured by the explosion that cost the lives of nine people, including a young mother in the ninth month of pregnancy. The idea is to rebuild some of the houses that were destroyed in another area, to create a large square in memory of the victims in the place of the massacre. “We are talking about regional and state resources that are absolutely within reach, according to a first estimate by the municipal technical office and Civil Protection will serve between 15 and 20 million euros”. The Musumeci government has already earmarked two million euros for the town of Agrigento.
