This was announced to Adnkronos by the president of Codacons Carlo Rienzi, after the resounding resonance of the ‘launch’ of the compensation action by the consumer association a few days ago. “There are hundreds and hundreds of people who have written to us to ask for help in this situation, and 10 thousand have already downloaded the form of notice from our site and have asked us to intervene”, explains Rienzi. Also thanks to the prospect of a record compensation that, according to the association, it is possible to ask (“you can ask for up to 10 thousand euros in compensation”, declared the Codacons by launching the collective action), there is a boom in citizens “who believe damaged by the cumbersome and contradictory communication on the part of the institutions “, underlines Rienzi. He explains: “The peculiarity lies in the fact of the damage from risk and fear. We are based not only on a well-known jurisprudence on the subject that recognizes the damage from health risk, but also on the sentence of the Court of Assizes of Taranto on the Ilva case of a few days ago, in which we represented 50 citizens, who awarded the applicants compensation of about 5 thousand euros each for being exposed to toxic substances. Therefore for the potential damage and for the risk incurred on the health front, even in the absence of actual damage to the health”.
