Bad weather, yellow alert in nine regions

Bad weather over Italy, there is yellow alert in nine regions. The slow eastward shift of the low pressure area, located within the perturbation that is affecting our country, in fact favors the persistence of rainfall on the southern Tyrrhenian sectors, in a context of general sustained ventilation from the northern quadrants with reinforcements that will affect in particular, the central-southern Adriatic sectors. Based on the available forecasts, the Department of Civil Protection in agreement with the regions involved – which are responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the territories concerned – has therefore issued a new warning of adverse weather conditions which integrates and extends the previous ones. . The weather phenomena, impacting on the various areas of the country, could determine hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities which are reported, in a national summary, in the national criticality and alert bulletin which can be consulted on the Department’s website (www.protezionecivile.gov.it). From today afternoon, Saturday 11 December, the notice foresees the persistence of winds from storm to strong north-westerly storm on Calabria, especially southern sectors and Sicily, with violent storms along the exposed coasts and precipitation, also of a reverse or temporal, on Campania, Sicily and southern Calabria, especially Tyrrhenian sectors. The phenomena will be accompanied by strong showers, local hailstorms, frequent electrical activity and strong gusts of wind. From the early hours of tomorrow, Sunday 12 December, the warning also provides for the persistence of winds from storm to strong north-east storm on Abruzzo and Molise, especially coastal sectors and, from early morning, winds from storm to strong north-eastern storm on Puglia.
