A condor in St. Peter’s Square. He is one of the characters of the funny nativity scene set up in the Vatican for Christmas 2021, which will be inaugurated tomorrow, and which is composed of statues that portray a slice of life of the inhabitants of the Andes. The condor is among the most frequent representations in the Andes, it symbolizes paradise. In some cities of Peru the Andean rite known as “Yawar Fiesta” (Festival of the Blood) is still celebrated, with the condor as its protagonist. Tomorrow the Christmas tree from Andalo, in Trentino, will also be lit in St. Peter’s Square: a majestic 28-meter spruce. At 5 pm tomorrow, on the occasion of the inauguration, Msgr.
