Andrea Scanzi, taken in the minutes by the carabinieri of the Arezzo company on 26 April as a person informed on the facts, in relation to the well-known issue of the vaccination with the first dose of Astrazeneca on 19 March 2021, a matter on which an investigation was opened without suspects for which the prosecutor asked for the filing, he stressed to the doctor Evaristo Giglio of the Usl of Arezzo, with whom he was put in contact by his doctor, the “willingness to be subjected to vaccination always in compliance with the rules and without stealing nobody’s job, and in any case in the context of managing leftover doses “. From the report viewed by Adnkronos it emerges that Scanzi asked his doctor Roberto Romizi to be allowed to vaccinate, representing “the fact that, traveling a lot and frequenting crowded places”, he had “the desire, as soon as it was legally possible, to undergo the anti Covid vaccination” . At that point, the doctor put him in contact with Evaristo Giglio, district manager of the Usl Arezzo district, whom Scanzi immediately called and who proved to be available. “He told me that he would include me but also that I would have to be patient as this list was very long”. After that first phone call, the two heard other times about the journalist’s vaccination management. “After seeing General Figliuolo’s interview given to a television broadcast on a national network, in which he had once again reiterated that there were no advanced doses of the vaccine at the end of the day, I sent a whatsapp message to Giglio, again representing my availability to vaccination “, says Scanzi.” The USL doctor worried by clamor, asked me if I attended my parents and when I said they were fragile people he appeared relieved. Scanzi also told the carabinieri that he received, the day after the vaccination, or March 20 2021, a phone call from Giglio, worried about the media chaos generated by the news of the vaccination. Scanzi tells the investigators: “At 9.30 am, Giglio called me to tell me that my post had created problems for him both politically and in the ‘inside the Local Health Service to which he belongs – explains Scanzi – and asked me if I assisted elderly people and specifically my and parents “. The journalist, at that point, underlines that “I did not assist my parents but made it known that both were in a position to be considered fragile due to previous pathologies”. As reported by Scanzi, Giglio appeared relieved by that statement. “At this point he, evidently relieved by this statement of mine, told me that I was in all respects among the ‘caregivers’ and that my vaccination was no longer a problem. In fact, in the following days he himself repeated several times, in the face of my perplexities in the face of the media controversy that had arisen, the absolute correctness of the vaccination procedure to which I had been subjected precisely because it falls within the aforementioned category “. In the next passage, Scanzi points out in the minutes: “I never absolutely communicated to Giglio, before being vaccinated, the condition of fragile people in which my parents can be inserted. I spoke of this circumstance exclusively” with the general practitioner “in the phone call of March 4”.
