Covid cases in Italian prisons are still growing slightly. Positive inmates are 162 (including 13 new arrivals), out of a total of 53,954, while 169 cases are among the 36,939 prison policemen on duty. The data, updated as of yesterday, are published in the weekly report on the website of the Ministry of Justice. Last week the cases were 150 among the detainees, out of a population of 53,816 units, and 152 among the officers. Among the positive inmates, 158 are asymptomatic, 2 have symptoms and are managed within the institutions and 2 are hospitalized. Among the policemen 169 are asymptomatic in home isolation and 2 are hospitalized in the barracks. Finally, eighteen are the positives among the 4,021 personnel of the prison administration, 17 in home isolation and one hospitalized, while last week they were 12. Meanwhile the vaccination campaign continues. There are 84,159 doses of the anti covid vaccine administered to inmates, up from 83,378 last week.
