Last year the school was occupied by just 80 students and it split in two. But this year I saw a greater awareness of my classmates with respect to the need to express themselves on such a delicate issue as employment. The perception of this new ferment in the school seems to be confirmed by the events that occurred after the return in September: on the occasion of the vote, last 21 October, two new lists were formed at Mamiani, with two candidates each, as an alternative to that of the collective which for years reigned undisputed. They are Back to the future, leaders Flavia Zingaretti (daughter of the art of politics) and Mba (Mamiani back again, name chosen with reference to the return in presence), led by Pietro Giuliante (fifth year student) who with a post on Instagram, ‘Limits are only illusions’, on 6 October he kicked off his electoral campaign on social media. The result? Pietro achieves a historic result, distancing himself by 17 votes less from the collective and by 178 votes more from the second independent ‘Back to the future’ list. “We have subverted the dominance of the collective, a practically unchallenged hegemony at least since I attended school. Do you know why? – he asks – There were no alternatives. This year, however, things have changed: the collective won two seats with 395 votes; my list 378, and one seat; that of Flavia 200, with another seat – the student reports – Now we have to think about concrete interventions that instill enthusiasm in this restart phase, because the facts are our ideas. launched the first Mamiani five-a-side football tournament, activated the student discount card and obtained the availability for the intervention of personalities coming, among other things, from the world of politics and entertainment “. Immediate issues on the table? “Occupy or self-manage – replies Pietro – I proposed self-management, which the headmaster unofficially agreed before Christmas, December 21 and 22. But the proposal did not satisfy everyone. This is why we decided to meet in a decision-making assembly last Friday. and participation was consistent “. Satisfied with the result? “There is still a long way to go, but it is a beginning. My appeal to students is to participate and not to express a message of disunity. The strength of the collective is that they are many, they are cohesive, always present at political dynamics of the school and structured.
