Bad weather, short respite but from Sunday it gets worse again: what awaits us

Short respite from bad weather on Italy but from Sunday things change again. The high pressure from the Azores that has reached Italy will be short-lived with the arrival of an Atlantic disturbance. Mattia Gussoni, meteorologist of iLMeteo.it announces that both Saturday and Sunday the plains of the North will be shrouded in fog which in some areas could even persist throughout the day. In the Center-South and on the Alpine and Pre-Alpine sectors the sun will be more prevalent, also giving a pleasant climate during the day. This situation will begin to change in the course of Sunday afternoon when the vanguard of an intense disturbed front will activate humid southern winds responsible for the increase in cloud cover in the Center and in Sardinia and also in the North where the fogs will be gradually replaced by the overcast sky. The first rains will hit Sardinia, eastern Liguria and the coasts of upper Tuscany and then reach the coasts of Lazio and western Sicily in the evening. At night the worsening will further intensify on Lazio, Tuscany, Campania and all of Sicily with intense showers, thunderstorms and local storms. On Monday the disturbance will cross all regions with weaker rainfall in the north and more consistent and strong in the Tyrrhenian regions, from Tuscany to Campania. Temperatures will not undergo major variations in the Center-South, but will drop by a few degrees in the North, both in maximum and minimum values. Today Saturday 20 November – In the north: mists on the plains, sun on the mountains. In the center: fogs over Tuscany and Umbria, sun elsewhere. In the south: mostly sunny. Tomorrow Sunday 21 November – In the north: fogs in the plains, more sun on the hills, it gets worse in Liguria. Middle: covered on the coasts and Sardinia, then worsens in Sardinia with rain. South: stable and sunny. Monday 22 November – In the north: overcast with rain. Center: showers and thunderstorms from the western to the eastern sectors. South: unstable on Campania and Sicily and Calabrian Tyrrhenian coasts. From Tuesday short dry break, then bad weather will return.
