Quality of life, Milan at the top for income and wealth

Milan confirms the first placement already obtained last year in terms of income and wealth. This is what emerges from the Report on the Quality of Life in Italy 2021 of ItaliaOggi and La Sapienza University of Rome, in collaboration with Cattolica Assicurazioni. The survey is now in its 23rd edition. Following in the leading group we find Trieste, fifth last year, Bologna and Parma. The 27 leading positions (two less than last year) almost exclusively include provinces in northern Italy. In particular there are 11 provinces of the north west (against 13 in the last edition), of which 5 in Piedmont, in the order Turin, Novara, Vercelli, Biella and Cuneo; 5 Lombard provinces (one less than in 2020): Milan, Monza and Brianza, Lecco, Cremona and Bergamo; Genoa representing Liguria. The north east in turn is represented by 15 provinces (two more than in the previous edition): the two provinces of Trentino-Alto Adige; Belluno, Verona and Padua in Veneto; all the provinces of Friuli-Venezia Giulia with the exception of Gorizia; all the provinces of Emilia Romagna with the exception of Forlì-Cesena and Rimini. The only province (compared to 3 last year) to represent central Italy in the leading group is Florence. As for the 25 provinces surveyed in the tail group (like last year), vice versa, they are almost exclusively located in southern Italy and the islands, a result that confirms the one already obtained in the last edition of the survey. Representing central Italy we find Latina for Lazio. The remaining 24 provinces belong to southern and insular Italy. The five Campania provinces are included; 4 of the 6 Apulian provinces, with the exception of Bari and Taranto; Potenza in Basilicata; the 5 Calabrian provinces; all Sicilian provinces / metropolitan cities. Closes the ranking, as in the two previous editions, the province of Crotone. And again, Siena is confirmed in first place in the ranking of leisure and tourism, confirming the placements achieved in past editions, as well as Rimini, Aosta and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, while Grosseto is in fifth position; Trieste ranks first in the dimension of education and training, which from the 2019 edition of the survey replaces the old dimension of financial and school services. To follow three other provinces of the north east, Bologna, Trento and Milan; Aosta in first place in the safety ranking, climbing eleven positions compared to the last edition of the survey. They are followed, in order, by Rieti, Potenza and Pordenone, which in turn are gaining positions, while also confirming their presence in the group of excellence this year. This year Reggio Emilia is ranked first in the environmental dimension, followed by Pordenone, Mantua and Parma. In the 23 leading positions, 2 more than in the previous edition, there are 19 provinces of northern Italy and 4 of central Italy; Bolzano and Bologna open the ranking of the business and work dimension, a result that confirms those of the past editions of the survey. Followed by Fermo, Trento and Cuneo, which in turn maintain the rankings obtained in recent years.
