Cesare Battisti launches a long ‘appeal to justice’ from the Rossano Calabro prison, where he has been detained for almost a year under the High Security regime (AS2) and from where he awaited the decision of the Dap on his request for transfer, presented by his lawyers, Gianfranco Sollai and Davide Steccanella, the day after their arrival in Calabria. Request rejected in recent days, from what he learned from Adnkronos, and for which the former Pac terrorist has started a hunger strike and interrupted the therapies he undergoes for health problems. In his letter-appeal sent through the lawyers, Battisti starts from the reasons that led the Dap not to grant his transfer: the High Security regime linked to the type of crime committed and a path that according to the Dap is in any case aimed at re-education and the reintegration of the offender. Thesis that Battisti disputes, recalling that “he spent 40 years in exile, leading a life as a taxpayer perfectly integrated into civil society, with incessant professional activity, peaceful involvement in cultural initiatives and volunteering, wherever I was offered refuge”.
