Tax, Gigi D’Alessio acquitted in Rome

The singer Gigi D’Alessio was acquitted by the Court of Rome with the formula ‘because the fact does not exist’ in the proceedings before the single judge for tax offenses. The other 4 defendants also acquitted. The trial was born from an investigation by the Capitoline prosecutors for an alleged tax evasion of about 1.7 million euros between IRES and unpaid VAT. Together with D’Alessio, four other people ended up on trial. The facts dated back to 2010 and the accusations were of concealment of the accounting records. The prosecutor had asked for a 4-year sentence for the singer and a 2-year sentence for the other defendants.
