A medium-western flow influences the Mediterranean area: from today a weak promontory will give way to unstable fresh air flows arriving from the North Atlantic and to infiltrations of warm-humid air of North African origin. The result is conditions of marked variability in the Center-North, with thunderstorms that locally may also be of strong intensity. Tomorrow the atmospheric instability will affect a large part of Italy, in particular the Apennine sectors. On the basis of the available forecasts, the Department of Civil Protection, in agreement with the regions involved, which are responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the territories concerned, has issued a further warning of adverse weather conditions which integrates and extends the one released yesterday. . The weather phenomena, impacting on the various areas of the country, could determine hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities which are reported, in a national summary, in the national criticality and alert bulletin which can be consulted on the Department’s website (www.protezionecivile.gov.it). From the early afternoon of today, the notice provides for scattered rainfall, also of a downpour or thunderstorm, on Lazio, Abruzzo and Molise, especially on the internal Apennine sectors. From tomorrow morning, Monday 7 June, scattered precipitations are expected, also of a downpour or thunderstorm, on Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and Marche. The phenomena will be accompanied by showers of strong intensity, electrical activity and strong gusts of wind. On the basis of the expected and ongoing phenomena, a yellow alert was assessed for tomorrow, Monday 7 June, in Veneto, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise, Puglia and Basilicata. The meteorological and critical situation forecast for Italy is updated daily on the basis of new forecasts and the evolution of phenomena, and is available on the website of the Department of Civil Protection (www.protezionecivile.gov.it), together with the general rules of behavior to be taken in case of bad weather. The information on the regional alert levels, on the specific criticalities that could affect the individual territories and on the prevention actions adopted are managed by the territorial civil protection structures, in contact with which the Department will monitor the evolution of the situation.
