Green pass, privacy guarantor launches investigation into pirated apps

Several producers and developers, also from other countries, have made available on the online stores apps for verifying the green pass that allow those who download them, by framing the QR Code, to read personal data such as name, surname, date of birth, but even doses or tampons carried out. In some cases, apps also require a registration for download and transfer data to third parties. The Data Protection Authority warns all users against downloading these apps, which process data in violation of the provisions of the law, which establish that the Verification C19 App, issued by the Ministry of Health, is the only verification tool. of green certifications that can be used to guarantee people’s privacy. The Authority has also decided to launch an investigation into non-compliant green pass apps, reserving the appropriate interventions to protect users.
