A similar increase in cases in my city had never occurred so it was caused by those demonstrations”. This was stated to Adnkronos by the mayor of Trieste, Roberto Dipiazza, commenting on the increase in Covid cases in the city after the No Green pass protests occurred in recent days. “I am terrified of returning to a deserted piazza dell’Unità, where everything is closed, we have stolen a year and a half from young people. Do we want to go back to that point? – he asks himself, referring to the risk of new closures – We really hope not”. The mayor, who is in contact with the prefect, could soon intervene: “I am studying the possibility as mayor, based on the fact that we are close to the yellow zone, to issue an ordinance against gatherings”.
