Magrini (Aifa): ‘2 tiring years have highlighted our NHS quality’

Those of the pandemic “were two very tiring years, which confronted us with other international realities, demonstrating the intrinsic quality of our national health system and our ability to respond”. This was stated by Nicola Magrini, general director of the Italian drug agency (Aifa) during ‘InnovaCtion, what do ideas need to become health, business, future’, promoted by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in the Verona office, on the occasion of 90 years of presence in our country. “It is also true that Italians give their best in being exceptional. But I would like to overcome this stereotype because I think that those who have dedicated themselves to this response, the health system and its operators, have a recognized quality”. As for vaccines for adults in general, such as shingles, “surely there is a need for more information and culture on the fact that vaccination is not just about children. In these two years, however, we have learned the exact opposite: vaccines have saved many lives among the elderly. “
