Covid, more than double fourth doses in one month

The number of administrations of the fourth doses of the anti-Covid vaccine is growing. In general, considering all the regions, the coverage for the categories candidates to receive the second booster went from 8.19% last month to 17.24% today. In absolute numbers, it went from 362,178 doses on May 10 to 762,601 reached today. Tuscany, Molise and Puglia are the regions that in the last 30 days have registered the greatest increases for vaccinations with the second booster, almost tripling the fourth doses administered. This is the photograph that emerges from the updated report on the second booster dose, released by the Ministry of Health. In particular, from 10 May to today, Tuscany has gone from 6.34% to 19% of supplies to the categories concerned; Molise from 3.6% to 9.22%; Puglia from 2.75% to 8.02%. Piedmont, the first region in terms of coverage percentage of the second booster doses, with 37.51%, more than doubled the doses in a month: it stood at 16.77% on 10 May. The administrations also increased in Calabria which, however, remains behind, passing from 2.25% 30 days ago to 4.75%. “I ask the most fragile people to protect themselves with the second booster” of the anti-Covid vaccine, “there is still room for growth for the covers. We must consider the pandemic not over. Vaccines remain a fundamental weapon”, is the appeal launched by the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, speaking in Rome at the press conference organized by the Italian Society of Urology, on the occasion of the second national day dedicated to the discipline.
