Listening to these emotions and helping those who experience them to overcome them, through treatment of its image, is the commitment that Look Good Feel Better has been carrying out since 1989 in the United States and which has spread over the years in 27 countries around the world. With strength and a smile we have brought this mission to Italy as well. in 2007, and since then every year hundreds of women come to us to experience a moment of light-heartedness in which to treat themselves to a cuddle and dedicate themselves only to themselves, to find the smile and the energy necessary to face the therapies. has worsened further with the arrival of the pandemic, which has immobilized many things, but unfortunately has not curbed the spread of cancer. In a period characterized by severe limitations on access to health facilities, for p It has become even more important for people in care to feel that they are close. This is why we have chosen to bring our laboratories online and continue to make our support felt to those who need it most. “This was stated by Anna Segatti, president of La Forza e il Sorriso Onlus, on the occasion of the event ‘The value of self-care in the course of oncological therapy ‘, which was held this morning in Rome in the presence of representatives of the political-institutional world, health professionals and representatives of associations active in the area. “The strength and the smile – recalled the president – is a non-profit organization that works to support women facing cancer. So it is extremely important to spread the message of our mission and that is why today we want to raise awareness among institutions, especially regarding the importance of our project “.” Unfortunately, during the lockdown, the disease did not stop. For this reason – Segatti highlighted – we had to invent something different because we could not enter hospitals because they were all closed, you could only enter for certain pathologies. Hence the idea of ​​creating online laboratories: the beauty consultant connected through the Internet with some patients who attended from home and to whom we had sent the bags with our products. In this way they underwent the 13 steps of our makeup, from cleansing to applying lipstick. It is an alternative method that can never replace face-to-face workshops, but it has given us the opportunity to support all the women who wanted to participate.
