3D printed eye implanted in 47-year-old: it is the first time in the world

A 3D printed eye was implanted in a 47-year-old from London. This was announced by the Moorfields Eye Hospital which points out that this “is the first fully digital prosthetic eye in the world created for a patient”, reported the British media. Compared to the traditional acrylic prosthesis it is more realistic and defined: it gives the perception of the real depth of the pupil.
