Covid today Italy, stable Rt but increasing incidence

Coronavirus situation in Italy, national Rt stable at 1.21 while the incidence is still increasing with 98 infections per 100 thousand inhabitants. These are the data from the weekly ISS report, which also reports a slight hospital decline to 1.09 while hospitalizations grow: intensive care at 5.3% and medical areas at 7.1%. Italy at moderate risk, with a region towards high risk. There is a sharp increase in cases not associated with transmission chains. INCIDENCE INCREASING The national incidence of Covid in Italy continues to increase: according to the main data of the control room monitoring, communicated by the Higher Institute of Health (ISS), the number of new cases per 100 thousand inhabitants rises to 98 (period 12- November 18) against the previous survey of 78 per 100 thousand inhabitants (period 5-11 November). RT STABLE ABOVE EPIDEMIC THRESHOLD Compared to the previous week in Italy, the average transmissibility index Rt calculated on symptomatic cases (period 27 October-9 November) is stable at 1.21. However, the RT is above the epidemic threshold (range 1.14-1.26). “On the other hand, the transmission index based on cases with hospitalization is slightly decreasing, but still above the epidemic threshold”, equal to 1.09 this week (range 1.04-1.14 ) according to the survey as of November 9th. It was at 1.14 the previous week (survey as of November 2).
