Cure frontman Robert Smith prepares to release a solo noise album. The hypothesis, increasingly concrete, was reiterated in an interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Music 1, explaining that the album will not be released in the name of the band. “I’ve always had the desire to record an hour of noise music and I didn’t want to do it with the band. You wait 10 years to hear a Cure record and there comes noise music. The band said no but I had a lot of fun doing it. “explained Smith. The frontman appeared in the interview with the Chvurches, with whom he collaborated to release the single “How Not To Drown”, taken from the album Screen Violence which will be released on August 27th. The Cure, meanwhile, does not stop. He told Lowe that “within a month and a half we will probably be able to report on our activities for next year. We worked on two records, one is very dark, the other is not. They are practically finished.”
