Willie Garson, star of Sex and the City, died: he was 57 years old

Willie Garson, died at the age of 57. The son made it known without explaining the cause of the death of the actor famous for having played in ‘Sex and the City’ Stanford Blatch, the close friend and confidant of Carrie Bradshaw played by Sarah Jessica Parker. He recently worked on the spin-off series ‘And Just Like That’. Born William Garson Paszamant in New Jersey in 1964, Garson had studied theater and earned a master’s degree in fine arts from the Yale School of Drama. He played small roles in several popular television series in the 1980s, including Cheers, Family Ties, and LA Law. He also appeared in some hit shows from the 90s like The X-Files, Boy Meets World, and Friends. In 1998, Garson appeared in Sex and the City over the seasons as Stanford Blatch, a role he reprized in the two films in the franchise. Mario Cantone, who played Garson’s on-screen partner Anthony Marentino in the series, wrote on Instagram: “I am devastated and overwhelmed by sadness … You have been a gift from the gods.” Cynthia Nixon, Miranda Hobbes in the series, said: “We all loved him and loved working with him. He was endlessly fun on screen and in real life. He was a source of light, friendship and tradition of the show.”
