‘Dune’ and the film about Lady D arrive at the Lido

The day of the highly anticipated ‘Dune’ by Denis Villeneuve and the film in competition on Lady Diana signed by Pablo Larraìn has arrived at the Lido, with Kristen Stewart in the role of the princess. ‘Dune’, which is presented out of competition at the Venice Film Festival and starring Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac and Josh Brolin, is a new adaptation of the 1965 science fiction novel of the same name by Frank Herbert, already brought to the cinema in 1984 by David Lynch. It is one of the most anticipated titles of the year by science fiction fans and in recent days the direction of the exhibition has had to face the social ire of fans who had not found on sale the tickets for the official screening with the cast, scheduled for today at 18.45 in the Great Hall. Tickets for the many screenings in each room of the exhibition were literally snapped up. The two films in competition of the day are also important and expected: ‘Spencer’, the film by Pablo Larraìn about Lady Diana with Kristen Stewart in the role of the protagonist, which promises an original reading of the story of the princess; and ‘The lost daughter’ by Maggie Gyllenhaal, with Olivia Colman, Jessie Buckley and Dakota Johnson, about which there is great curiosity also because it is based on the novel by Elena Ferrante ‘The dark daughter’. French journalist Loup Bureau making his directorial debut to turn the spotlight on the forgotten and grueling war between Ukrainian soldiers and Russian-backed separatists.
