Culture, Magna Grecia Foundation focuses on Calabrian artists

During the first appointment of the prequel of the third International Annual Meeting SudeFuturi III – (R) innoviamo il Mezzogiorno which was held in Piazza San Rocco on 27 and 28 August, the president of the Magna Grecia Foundation Nino Foti underlined the importance of the union tourism and culture for the relaunch of Calabria and the South, declaring that it wants to focus on Calabrian artists and the second part of the evening focused on the theme of health, during which the virologist Robert Gallo was awarded, was entirely dedicated to them. The actress Annalisa Insardà alternated on the stage, who recited two monologues of civil theater, with the singers Valentina Balistreri, a relative of the great folk singer Rosa Balistreri, and Marinella Rodà. Accompanied by the guitarist Massimo Garitano the first, by her own band composed of Andrea Noce, Salvatore Gullace and Danilo Brancati the second, the two singers performed songs together. Among the songs interpreted by Valentina Balistreri “Cu ti lu said” and the famous “Mi votu e mi rivotu” and “Mafia e parrini”, by Marinella Rodà “Calabria”, “U pisci spada” and “Ilio”. Grand finale, much appreciated by the public, with the two artists who performed together singing “Quandu amuri è” and “A virrinedda”.
