Exhibitions, Ardo Quaranta: “At Raw, homage to witches, women who dared and dare”

Rome art week (Raw), in the days of the formation of the first Italian government led by a woman, hosts the collection of the artist Ardo Quaranta ‘Fluctuating witches’, a tribute to women who “dared and dare” “defined witches over the centuries because they are extraordinary, rich in values ​​”, as the artist explains to Adnkronos; “floating because suspended and ready to exist in the weight and in the aspiration to freedom, an indispensable condition of each individual up to the clash with outrage, violence.” Those women, to use the words of Giorgia Meloni in the Chamber at the Chamber for trust, who “broke the heavy glass roof placed over our heads.” The exhibition, open until November 18 in Rome at Giuseppe’s Legal4Transport studio Loffreda, inserted among the Raw exhibition spaces, starts from a series of great works on canvas, dedicated to the figure of the Witch understood as a paradigm of individual freedom. Singularity ‘passing through that of’ Fire ‘and Awareness’ … through a painted femininity that captures, in the constant presence on the canvases of long black hair floating in the water, in the earth, in space. The exhibition continues with a collection of small-sized works, inks on paper, in which the Artist presents a personal reinterpretation of the 22 Major Arcana of the Tarot, a series entitled “Strigarum Arcana.” Ardo Quaranta was born in Verona l 1975, lives and works in Fano. Graduated in architecture at the University of Venice, he also studied at the F. Morosini Naval College. After graduating, he completed his master’s degree in Yacht Design at the Milan Polytechnic. In addition to his works on canvas, his research also extends to new digital technologies, graphics and illustration. Works by him are in private collections in Italy and abroad.
