Dance, Bolle: “You need a diploma for teachers, unprepared teachers can ruin talents”

“In Italy there is no certification that certifies the quality of dance teachers. Teaching must be absolutely ‘regulated’ in our country. Dance is very, very widespread, there are many dance schools. But training is not always properly managed. An unprepared teacher can ruin talents ”. This is the cry of alarm launched by Roberto Bolle, star among the stars at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma alongside two other great etoiles, Alessandra Ferri and Eleonora Abbagnato, director of the ballet and of the Costanzi school, among the protagonists of the meeting ‘Artistic talents: how to discover and enhance them. A successful experience conducted by the president Impresa Cultura Italia in the context of the Forum organized by Confcommercio. “Our talents need to be supported. Many leave our country to study and work abroad. After all, what I did at the Paris Opera too – recalled Eleonora Abbagnato – I was a determined child. I confessed it to Roland Petit. ‘In two years I will be at the Palais Garnier’, I told him. And so it was. At the time I was only 12 years old ”. During the meeting Roberto Bolle returned to talk about teacher training. “In Italy a state diploma is not compulsory and this is a big problem – he reiterated – Dance is rigor, respect, not just training. There was a surreal silence in Piazza Duomo when I gathered one thousand and 600 students from many Italian schools for a public class. Respect for authority and one’s own teachings. It doesn’t happen often in Italian schools. Often what happens in some institutes leaves us breathless ”.
