van Hoecke, Carbone: ” he had a very ‘Bèjartian’ way of observing you, he penetrated your soul ‘

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of Micha, a great lord of the theater, a man of rare culture. He had a way of looking at you, of observing you very ‘Béjartian’, it seemed to penetrate your soul, to understand you without you having uttered any word”. It is the memory of Alessio Carbone, former danseur premier of the Paris Opera, whom Micha van Hoecke, whose funeral is celebrated in Rome today, wanted to be next to him in two shows when he was director of the Rome Opera House, ‘Aria Tango’ alongside the Oscar winner Luis Bacalov and ‘Terra e Cielo’ performed in Caracalla. “Micha was a great storyteller – added Carbone – His stories and dinners with him were endless. His eloquence was equal to his choreographic and theatrical genius”.
