‘Resistere!’, The Ukrainian comic that in 2017 anticipated the war with Russia, arrives in Italy. The saga begins in 1918, but in an alternate and fantastic past: while the world powers are engaged in the Great War, Bolshevik Russia attacks Ukraine using not only deadly innovative weapons, but also terror, psychological manipulation and even techniques. mystics capable of awakening the dead to send them to fight at the front. But what is also surprising is the determination with which the Ukrainians resist the invaders, to which we owe the name of the work, in which the protagonists of the story – from Lenin to Trotsky – confront themselves with zombies, robots and characters from the esoteric world, such as the mystic Madame Blavatsky. Published in Italy by Dumas, ‘Resist!’ will be on newsstands starting from 25 June. The Italian edition includes an interview with the authors and a preface signed by the cartoonist Antonio Serra. A portion of the proceeds of the two volumes will be donated to the organization ‘United Help Ukraine’, which supports refugee families. The graphic novel will be presented, with the three authors in connection from Ukraine, on Saturday 25 June at 4 pm at ‘Wow Spazio Comics – Museum of Comics in Milan ‘, where some pages of “Resist!” will remain on display from 25 June to 11 September.
