The ‘Musica sull’Acqua’ festival is back, from 3 to 17 July

‘Musica sull’Acqua’ is back, the festival spread among nature, ancient villages and places of art from Lake Como this year for the first time to Bergamo. The eighteenth edition, scheduled from 3 to 17 July next, is dedicated to the memory of Bernard Haitink, a member of the Festival’s artistic committee. ‘Musica sull’Acqua’ was born in 2005 to celebrate the twentieth birthday of the Roberto Goitre Experimental School of Music in the village of Colico, in the green heart of Lombardy between the lakes of Como and Lecco. The title to Roberto Goitre, student of the experimental teaching method of the Hungarian Kodály and rediscoverer of the precepts of Guido D’Arezzo. Today it is led by Francesco Senese, internationally renowned violinist and artistic director of the festival. The heart of ‘Musica sull’Acqua’ is the Mach Youth Orchestra, a direct emanation of 36 years of school and festival work, the protagonist of many events and in continuous dialogue with soloists and important artists such as Mario Brunello, Frida Bollani-Magoni, Ingrid Fliter, André Gallo, Magnus Lindgren, Andrea Lucchesini, Diego Matheuz, Sara Mingardo, Moni Ovadia, Marco Pierobon. “It is a return to ancient times, to concerts in the parks of European courts, to Viennese dancing cafes – comments the artistic director Francesco Senese – a time jump beyond certain convictions that seem to have inhibited man’s natural instinct for music as joy , well-being, contentment. Revitalizing this primal human instinct towards music, starting from the body, from a free, fresh, multisensory experience, if it is true that the first musical instrument was the walking feet and their rhythmic beating is the mission that was of the my parents, the musical feeling in which we grew up humanly and professionally my sister and I, the feeling that today we want to convey to our audience. And over the years I can testify that the music lived among the natural elements and the beauty of human art of the places where I grew up is an experience that is good for people of all ages “.
