Scottish actor Neil Connery, younger brother of the great actor Sean Connery (1930-2020), died in Edinburgh at the age of 82 after a long illness. His disappearance, on Sunday 9 May as the Scottish press reports today, took place just seven months after the death of his older brother, the legendary star of the James Bond films. While his better-known brother starred in the 007 films, Neil Connery was chosen for his resemblance to Sean as the protagonist of the James Bond parody entitled “OK Connery” (1967) directed by Alberto De Martino, where he starred alongside Daniela Bianchi and Adolfo Celi. He then starred in a dozen other Gerry Levy films “Galaxy Horror” (1969) and in the 70s and 80s appeared in several TV series, including the mini series “The Borgias” (1981). Edinburgh, seven years after his brother Thomas, who would become known as Sean, Neil Connery earned his living primarily as a plasterer, until an accident in 1983 ended his business.
