Carmen Consoli wins the Amnesty International Award for the second time

Carmen Consoli with ‘The black man’ wins the Amnesty International Italia 2022 award in the section reserved for the big names of Italian song. The singer-songwriter from Catania is the first artist to win the recognition twice and her second victory coincides with the 20th edition of the award and with the 25th of the festival that hosts it, ‘Voices for Freedom – A song for Amnesty’. The winning song, ‘The black man’, is contained in the album ‘Volevo fare la rockstar’ and speaks with sarcasm of sovereignty that leads to human rights violations. Carmen Consoli had already been the winner in 2010 with the song ‘My uncle’ which told of child abuse.Waiting for the award ceremony, which will take place on Sunday in Rosolina Mare, in the province of Rovigo, the Sicilian artist returns to the main stage of the Primo May in Piazza San Giovanni in Rome and on a tour that will see her engaged with three different formations, depending on the locations that will host her: ‘Volevo fare la rockstar Tour’, ‘Acustico’ and ‘Femme Fatale’.
