The seventh edition of the ‘Tales of Sabaudia’ is underway: from 20 July the summer book returns, signed by both famous names and emerging authors, as a gift on the Pontine beaches and Leonardo Da Vinci airport. Also this year it will be a green book, using ecological paper and biodegradable cover, with the novelty of a new section dedicated to the environment that will see the slogan “If you respect the environment, defend Life” stamped in the opening pages of the book. because it represents a message that can also remember through reading how important it is to protect the environment and the sea from any contamination, in particular from that of plastic abandoned on beaches as any waste. The new edition, which presents in the section dedicated to the environment the forewords of the undersecretary to the Ministry of Economy and Finance Claudio Durigon and the director of Italy Enel Carlo Tamburi, is divided into two sections for a total of twenty-five stories. In the first, ten excellent names testify to their support for a great cultural operation in favor of reading and writing, while in the second, dedicated to emerging authors, the finalists of the fifteen short stories of the national literary competition compete against each other. Only the second section of the book will be subject to vote by two juries: a popular one, made up of the readers of the beaches who will vote through a special ballot, and an honorary one made up of illustrious names and chaired by the President of Coni Giovanni Malagò. But from this year not only books, in fact the vast audience of the Tales will be called to vote from the beaches, through the social pages, even the photographs in competition in the new photographic section of the Tales 2021 published on Instagram and Facebook and which will also see a jury of photographers from agencies and newspapers. Over one hundred and fifty thousand collectible books given away over the years on the Pontine beaches, one hundred and seventy-four authors including famous names and emerging writers, an impressive cultural operation in favor of writing and reading that over time has managed to increase and consolidate more and more esteem and affection of readers. Created in collaboration with the Lazio Region, conceived and edited by Maria Costici with the contribution of the Municipality of Sabaudia, Poste Italiane, the Mare Pontino Consortium, Varigrafica Alto Lazio, BCC Cassa Rurale ed Artigiana dell’Agro Pontino and Vart Communication, the volume, dedicated to Sergio and Nori Corbucci, has a limited edition of twelve thousand copies and is distributed free of charge at the establishments and hotels on the Pontine coast and at the Leonardo da Vinci International Airport from where it will fly around the skies. For this cultural initiative, Aeroporti di Roma will distribute free of charge to passengers departing from the Boarding Area E three thousand copies of the most sought-after book of the summer.
