The first edition of the Tito Film Festival will take place on 16 and 17 July, the first festival of gratitude, which this year will be held in Umbria, in Costacciaro (Perugia) and will have Claudia Gerini as godmother. The artistic direction is entrusted to Emanuele Sabetta, creative director of Direct 2 Brain, one of the most successful creative factories on the national scene. It is organized by the very young people of the Pro Costacciaro Aps Association, in collaboration with Istituto Luce-Cinecittà, Manuela Cacciamani Founder of One More Pictures, with the support of the Cassa di Risparmio di Perugia Foundation, with the support of Rai Cinema and with the Media partnership of I can.it, of the Chili magazine, Hot Corn, and Direct 2 Brain. The Festival is sponsored by the Umbria Region, the Umbria Film Commission and the Municipality of Costacciaro with the University of the Original Men of Costacciaro and the Costacciaro Make Up Association. It is also supported by Birra Flea and Cotril. This edition will be dedicated to Tito Marconi, first President of Cinecittà, a native of Costacciaro. It is no coincidence that several Umbrian citizens, under the impulse of Marconi himself, became those skilled workers of the cinema who, starting after the war, contributed to the rebirth of Cinecittà, taking part in the creation of masterpieces such as Ben-Hur and Cleopatra. This is the reason why the subtitle of the Festival is “From Costacciaro to Cinecittà A / R”. The program is full of events, guests, screenings, talks, and films in vr and will see the participation of numerous artists, from the actors Francesco Pannofino to Nicola Nocella, from director Giulio Base to actress Rocío Muñoz Morales, from the wonderful interpreter of the film “Pinocchio”, Maria Pia Timo to the award-winning “Pinocchio” costume designer Massimo Cantini Parrini. The results of the contest, launched by Rai Cinema Channel, for the best Under 35 short film will also be presented: around 150 short films participated in the initiative. In the Palazzo Ducale di Costacciaro there will be the photographic exhibition “Cinecittà, beyond the gaze” by director and photographer Fabio Lovino and the Masterclass of Roberto Recchioni, screenwriter, designer and editorial director of the legendary Dylan Dog magazine, entitled “The invisible writing: words behind the images “. The events can be followed live on the online newspaper Can.it. The event will lead artists and workers of the seventh art in one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Umbria. The screenings will be held in the presence, in compliance with the anti Covid regulations and the maximum number of admissions allowed, in the center of Costacciaro under the historic Clock Tower, symbol of the place. The artwork of the Festival poster was created by the internationally renowned artist Marco Gallotta. New Yorker by adoption, the artist has made papercutting his modus operandi and can boast collaborations with partners such as Chanel, Vogue, Campari, Timberland, Nike, and well-known figures such as Ennio Morricone and Will Smith. the President of the Istituto Luce – Cinecittà, Chiara Sbarigia, the Founder of One More Pictures, Manuela Cacciamani, the Artistic Director of the Festival, Emanuele Sabetta, the photographer and director Fabio Lovino, the mayor of Costacciaro, Andrea Capponi, the president of the Pro Costacciaro Association, Riccardo Conti and the godmother of the event, Claudia Gerini. The journalist Alvaro Moretti moderated. “We are in a situation of potential revival after the pandemic – says Chiara Sbarigia, President of the Istituto Luce Cinecittà – and we are ready to use all the means at our disposal not only to carry out physical restructuring interventions but also to enhance the wealth of human resources that are part of Cinecittà’s success, today as then “.” I am really happy to be the godmother of the Tito Film Festival, the festival of gratitude because Cinema is a world where gratitude can have a crucial value – explains Claudia Gerini – It is a work made up of images, authors, workers and talent, but also of alliances, solidarity and family. This is a way to say thanks to all those who, over the years, have taught me something, supported and encouraged – he concludes – Extraordinary memories of Cinecittà, an incredible and unique place, is the dream factory “Manuela Cacciamani, Founder of One More Pict ures, supporter of the festival says: “My family history is intimately intertwined with that of Cinecittà. My father, a native of Costacciaro, was among those who, thanks to the help of Tito Marconi, could have an opportunity to work at Cinecittà during the golden years, face to face with the greatest stars of national cinema and international. I therefore enthusiastically welcomed the opportunity to organize, together with the young people of the Pro Costacciaro APS Association, a festival of gratitude dedicated to this important post-war film entrepreneur. I strongly believe in the feeling of gratitude, because it not only helps to create authentic bonds in the present, but it is the umbilical cord through which we recognize that we are indebted to those who preceded us, in order to look to the future with greater confidence “. The Artistic Director Emanuele Sabetta illustrated the packed program of events, talks, masterclasses and exhibitions: “We will transform the streets of the small village of Costacciaro into a sort of immersive journey in Cinecittà’s most brilliant years, to give the feeling, to those who enter the town, of being able to experience the magic of cinema up close. We involved several important names in the film industry, actors, producers and workers, who in various ways will give their contribution to the Festival, some by doing a masterclass, some by participating in a talk, some by assigning what we call the “Gratitude Award”, addressed to particular professionals who, in one way or another, have distinguished themselves in their work in the cinematographic field “.
