Golden Globes, the protest widens: Tom Cruise returns the three prizes

Tom Cruise joins the chorus of indignation against the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. According to reports from the specialized cinema site Deadline Hollywood, Cruise would have returned today to the Hfpa the three Golden Globe trophies he has won over the years. The actor is the latest star to protest, after Netflix, Amazon and Nbc, among others, about the organization’s slowness in reforming its lack of inclusiveness. Authoritative sources have told Deadline that the return of the awards “has just happened, as the house of cards of the Golden Globes continues to crumble”. The news comes shortly after it announced that NBC has canceled next year’s Golden Globes broadcast, and that other stars, such as Scarlett Johansson, have joined the protest against Hfpa.
