‘There’s nothing to laugh about’. But, contrary to what the title would seem to announce, there is a lot of laughs at the Sala Umberto in Rome from 20 to 23 January with the “reverse show” proposed by Peppe Barra, staged with Lalla Esposito, within a scenography that overturns the vision proposing a theater viewed from the point of view of the actors, with the curtain, the wings, the boxes as a backdrop. In this very real and at the same time unreal space, an actor and an actress alternate in a sequence of specks, songs, monologues, varieties and surreal parodies of the Neapolitan classical theater, representing the dramatic situations of the theatrical couple, up to the unexpected pulcinellesco finale. , poetically comic.On the wave of memories, submerged by the nostalgia of a lost era, which will never return, between quarrels and sweet words of love, the two actors in the role of Pulcinella and Colombina hug each other to go to Heaven together , at the end of a show with a fast pace due to the continuous changes of scene, of light, of costume, of language.
