“History of those who flee and those who remain” is the title of the third book in the saga of “The brilliant friend”, a very successful quadrilogy by Elena Ferrante – whoever is hiding under this name – from which the equally successful TV series of RaiUno. It will be broadcast immediately after the conclusion of the Sanremo Festival, starting from Tuesday 8 February until Tuesday 1st March. The eight episodes, divided into four premieres, are produced by The Apartment and Wildside, with FremantleMedia Italia and Fandango Production in collaboration with Rai Fiction and HBO Entertainment. Unchanged the two main actresses, the friends – on stage and in life – Gaia Girace (Lila) and Margherita Mazzucco (Elena called Lenù) pick up where they left off. They have been ‘aged’ for the occasion and have become adult women: Lenù begins to become a writer, while Lila is separated from her partner with whom she had a son and lives working in harsh conditions. The relationship between the protagonists will reserve several twists. This time the director is Daniele Luchetti, who succeeds Saverio Costanzo who remained as screenwriter together with Francesco Piccolo and Laura Paolucci. The third season of “L’Amica Geniale” was filmed between Naples and Florence, as well as on the famous seaside promenade of Viareggio. The fiction has been successful all over the world and has been titled, in the USA, “” My brilliant Friend “. The identity of the author remains shrouded in mystery, which – according to some – would be Anita Raja, Neapolitan of origin (born in 1963), translator by profession and wife of the writer Domenico Starnone.
