It is 21:45:07 of 13 January 2012 when the Costa Concordia ship, set sail from the port of Civitavecchia in the direction of Savona, due to a passage too close to the coast, hits the rocks of the Scole, near the Island of Giglio . A gap of 70 meters opens in the hull and in less than an hour the journey turns into a tragedy. On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of one of the most serious shipwrecks in history, Sky TG24 realizes a dedicated program on 12 and 13 January, with in-depth analyzes and specials, by Stefano Sassi and Tonia Cartolano, broadcast on 12 January at 2.30pm and available on Demand. In the story, the images of greater emotional impact and the testimonies of the time are a counterpoint to the interviews with many of the protagonists of the story: among them Gregorio De Falco, at the time head of the operational section of the Port Authority of Livorno, who coordinated the operations rescue, the magistrate Francesco Verusio, former head of the Public Prosecutor of Grosseto and prosecutor in the criminal trial, the commander Nick Sloane, in charge of the parbuckling operation, or rather the rotation of the wreck in vertical position before the final refloating , and the subsequent transfer to Genoa for dismantling on 23 July 2014. The special will be followed by extensive live reports on 13 January, conducted by Tonia Cartolano, with links from the study that the canal has set up on the island of Giglio.
