According to a research carried out by Idealo, after more than 40 years the passion for Star Wars shows no sign of fading even online: the interest in products related to the series, in fact, has increased by + 56.4% on average in the last year. The monthly trend of online interest on the Italian idealo portal shows two important peaks: on the occasion of The Mandalorian’s debut in Italy, online searches for products and gadgets related to the world of Star Wars had a boom of + 462.1% compared to the same period of 2019 while, on the occasion of the distribution of the second season of the same series, the increase was more contained and “spread” between October and December, with a + 6.1% Among the characters of the saga the master Yoda it is the most loved in the last year. In the ranking of preferences follow Ben Solo / Kylo Ren (score 39.2), Anakin Skywalker (score 12.6), Luke Skywalker (score 8.2), Obi-Wan Kenobi (score 4.3), Rey Skywalker (score 3.2), Han Solo (score 2.9) and Chewbacca (score 2.9). The “average” fan of the legendary saga, according to the purchase intentions on idealo, is a man (72.3%), among 25 and 44 years old (56.5%), coming from Lombardy (score 100).
