The rapper FULA returns home with ‘Adouna’

A bridge between Senegal and Italy, FULA, aka Oumar Sall, tells with the Ep ‘Adouna’, out on June 11, his journey home, Africa, from which he left when he was very young with his mother . A personal but at the same time universal story marked by the songs ‘Il mare in casa’, ‘Cosmo’, ‘Macumba’, ‘Touty’, ‘Interlude’, ‘L’argent’, ‘Black Melanin’ and ‘Pikine Freestyle’ . “With this Ep, I begin to tell and tell the journey that took me home, immortalizing impromptu images that trace what most marked me of a journey that has projected me into a world full of contradictions – says the artist – title ‘Adouna’ (translated into Italian, ‘Vita’) was chosen because for me these songs are what I have lived and have always lived. Born in 1993, FULA fell in love with music after the discovery of Youssou N’Dour (the most famous African singer in the world, current minister of tourism and culture in Senegal). Thus the spark was born, especially for Afro Music, to which in 2006 he joined the exercise of break dance. But before devoting himself fully to music in FULA’s life there was sport, a useful means of integration for him. Then the world of sounds captured him completely, from the roots of African music to the intentions of the various Blues, Soul, Reggae, Rap, Jazz, Pop, Rock lovers. Multiformity and Multiculturalism among its watchwords. While the “conscious carefree and the desire for perennial revenge” are the background to his songs. Pioneer of Afro Urban Sound in Italy, FULA joined the LaPop label in 2020 by releasing singles: ‘Occhio di falco’, ‘Nomade’, ‘Maldafrica’, ‘Sabar’, ‘Tutti i colori’. At the same time FULA carries out the ‘Equipe 54’ project together with other exponents of the Milanese Afro Urban scene. And one year after the publication of ‘Maldafrica’, he returned to Africa, for him an inexhaustible source of inspiration, to continue creating and exhibiting, strengthening the bond with his land.
