Piparo (Sistina): “New restrictions for Covid would mark the end of private theaters”

“We absolutely cannot afford another stop: if the restrictions were to return, they would be fatal and for the private theater sector this time it would really be the end”. This is what Massimo Romeo Piparo, artistic director of the Sistina in Rome and president of the ATP, the Association of Italian private theaters warns, commenting to AdnKronos on the hypothesis of new measures being prepared by the Government to combat the Covid pandemic is even more effective. “We have just conquered 100% of the capacity in theaters, which are among the safest places in terms of size, air circulation, position and public education – remembers Piparo – and the fact that unfortunately we are already talking about restrictions, if not a backtracking is still a slowdown for us. We are all worried, we needed everything except this. Unfortunately, we did not prepare, we took for granted the restart and the reopenings and instead there was around the corner the bad surprise … “. For Piparo, “there was no real relaunch action: the first refreshments given a year and a half ago were removed, then decrees were made for each sector except for private live entertainment”. Now, underlines the director of the Sistina and president of ATP, “we are all starting again with our strength; but if these forces take them away from us, then that’s enough!
