This strong increase is due to two factors: on the one hand, demand exceeds supply – also linked to the supply problems of producers – on the other hand, the increase in the costs of raw materials and logistics, which contributed to the increase in the average price of TVs compared to 2020 (+ 26% overall from the beginning of the year). the process has begun which will lead to the passage of all national channels to Mpe4 coding and which will presumably end within six months. According to Gfk data, the approach of this date has led a large number of Italians to decide to replace their television, also taking advantage of state subsidies. The TV Scrapping Bonus came into effect last August through an inter-ministerial decree.
