‘Tech2Doc’ is born, an Enpam project to win the Digital Health challenge

Accessibility, guidance and practical support, continuous updating, exchange and experimentation. With these four pillars, the Tech2Doc platform of the Enpam Foundation was born, presented today at the headquarters of the social security institution. Developed together with leading Innovation and Digital Health experts, Tech2Doc is a project offered free of charge to all registered doctors and dentists, built to provide training and information on innovation and new technologies to support medical practice. “The Enpam is an essential piece in the universe of Health, in some way also of the representation of doctors in our country”, this is how the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, greeted the project. Thanks to this new and precious ally – reads in a note – doctors and dentists can explore the opportunities and risks of new technologies applied to health. With the ‘Interactive Digital Health Map’ it will be possible to navigate between existing digital medicine tools and have a comprehensive and targeted overview of the most interesting solutions and useful to the profession. All Enpam members will also have the opportunity to access authoritative and constantly updated news, participate in ECM events and courses and thus be constantly informed about innovations and the latest discoveries for health. Never before is it undergoing a radical transformation and paradigm shifts.Technological innovation has been and is a powerful one means for the modernization of the health system, capable of intercepting needs in real time and processing data and information through digital tools. All this can open the doors to a more equitable and accessible future of health, making the relationship between doctors, patients, institutions and the territory ever more productive.A great opportunity to relaunch digitalisation in healthcare and, in particular, telemedicine, is now represented from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr), whose first item of expenditure, equal to 7 billion euros, is dedicated precisely to ‘Proximity networks, structures and telemedicine for territorial health care’, the note recalls. The advantages of remotely rendered health and pharmaceutical services are undoubted, which eliminate the need for travel, guarantee more efficient access to quality care, reduce waiting times and simplify the bureaucratic procedures associated with the provision of these services. But technologies, however sophisticated, alone are not enough. There is a need to invest to enable people to use them at their best, thus facilitating the transition towards Connected Care, and above all towards a health of the future that combines technological development with insurmountable ethical and deontological safeguards, in full awareness of the role. of the human factor in the evolutionary process, strengthened and amplified in its diagnostic, assistance and treatment capabilities, to safeguard and enrich the fundamental doctor-patient relationship.According to the research of the Digital Innovation in Health Observatory of the Politecnico di Milano, recently published , 60% of specialist doctors and general practitioners have sufficient basic digital skills (Digital Literacy), related to the use of digital tools in daily life, while only 4% have a satisfactory level in all areas of skills professional digital (eHealth Competences). As the Minister for Technological Innovation and Digital Transition, Vittorio Colao, recently declared, “there is no real innovation without skills”. A particularly urgent concept in the health field, especially after the pandemic has highlighted the advantages of using the tools offered by digitization, but which highlight the lack of adequately trained health professionals. Advanced software and hardware need people who know how to use them best. Digital information and training therefore represents the key to improving health services. Tech2Doc fits into this context in a coherent way, activating a path of acquisition of skills dedicated to healthcare professionals to prepare them to face current and future challenges in an integrated, innovative, always result-oriented perspective. “Enpam launches Tech2doc, a unique project in Europe – declares Alberto Oliveti, president of the Enpam Foundation -.
