Al-Jasser (Isdb): “Over 4 billion dlr fielded for food safety and recovery”

This was stated by Muhammad Al-Jasser, president of the Islamic Development Bank (Isdb) speaking at the ‘Finance in Common Summit 2021’ hosted by the CDP. In particular, Al-Jasser underlined, “we have committed important resources to Iraq for the distribution of anti-covid vaccines”. The pandemic, explained Al-Jasser, “offers the opportunity to build a more resilient path to achieving sustainability goals”. By 2025, he underlined, “35% of the Bank’s operations will concern climate finance and investments in favor of renewables, food security, the water system and the transport system. We work in compliance with the commitments set out in the Paris agreements. “Investing in green and resilient infrastructure can create jobs,” he added. The public development banks, he concluded, “can make a fundamental contribution to achieving the sustainability objectives”.
