Cardia (Acadi): “Concession is legality protection on the territory, it cannot be lost”

Pending a reorganization of the legal gaming sector, we need “the extension of the concessions” which however “is not requested by the operator, it is technical and there is because the legislator, who has not resolved territorial issues and cannot make the competitions, cannot lose the public gaming operators who are not only revenue “but also” a decisive legality garrison “. This was stated by Geronimo Cardia, president of Acadi-Confcommercio, in his speech at the conference ‘Legal game: the need for reorganization – Proposals for an organic reform of the sector’, organized by the Milton Friedman Institute and streamed by Agimeg. Furthermore, he added, the legal gambling halls are also a “health center, because there the State puts the game on the ground with the characteristics it has decided, with precise rules, being able to intervene in the fight against gambling addiction”. As for the reorganization of the sector, said Cardia, “today we only have an idea, but we need to work with our heads down. It takes time, we say 2023, but if we wait until 2023 and nothing happens, the sector will not resist. As always happens we must think not only with the breath of history but reason with the shortness of breath of the news “, he added. So “we have to work on technical extensions, starting to talk about them already today. At the same time we need to work all together, there must not be a short circuit between operators”, concluded Cardia.
