Transition and agroecology, the biogas supply chain compared

Fighting the climate crisis, attention to soil protection and biodiversity, energy, agroecological and digital transition, opening of new markets thanks to the integration of biogas and biomethane plants in farms. These are the themes that characterize the new edition of Biogas Italy 2021 entitled ‘Green Possible. New energies for new markets’. The two days organized by Cib, the Italian biogas consortium, will be held in Rome on 22 and 23 September 2021. During the two days presented and moderated by Filippo Solibello, journalist and voice of Caterpillar AM of Radio2, the top experts in the sector will speak ; Italian and European politicians and agricultural and environmental associations; the most important players in the supply chain and in the business and industrial world. “This edition of Biogas Italy – explains Piero Gattoni, president of the Cib – is part of a particular moment of national planning. The National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr), with the system reform program connected to it, represents a fundamental tool to concretely implement the ecological transition path. In this context, Italian agriculture has the opportunity to take up the important challenge of contributing to solving the problems linked to the climate crisis, becoming the protagonist of change “.” The discussion dialogues that will animate the two days, starting from the work done dal Cib with the Farming for Future project – 10 actions to cultivate the future, will be dedicated to identifying the necessary steps to fully develop the potential of the agricultural sector in putting into practice the interventions envisaged by the PNRR ”concludes Gattoni. The first day is dedicated to the role of Italian agriculture in safeguarding and managing the environment and biodiversity to achieve carbon neutrality objectives. In addition to developing the main contents of the ‘Farming for Future’ project, thanks to the contribution of agricultural and environmental associations, the role of Italian and European agriculture in the path of carbon neutrality will be investigated, also through a dialogue with the main players in the supply chain and Made in Italy. The Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, Stefano Patuanelli, the Presidents of the Agriculture Committees of the Chamber and Senate, Filippo Gallinella and Gianpaolo Vallardi, as well as the head of the cabinet of the European Commissioner, were invited to participate in the first day. for agriculture, Maciej Golubiewski. The second day focuses on companies, industry and the agricultural biogas and biomethane market, in Europe and Italy, identifying the scenarios for the next development of renewable gas. Harmen Dekker, director of the European Biogas Association, of which Cib is one of the founding members, will take part in the work, among others. The Minister for Economic Development, Giancarlo Giorgetti, was also invited.
