‘Sustainability necessary choice for industry’, Itlas workshop at Salone Mobile

On 7 September 2021 at 6.00 pm, during the Milan furniture week, Itlas, one of the great European wood processing companies, organized the workshop on the theme “Sustainability, a necessary choice for the industrial world”, the first of a series of itinerant meetings that will see the industrial world and institutions confront each other on the challenge of the coming years: the green transition. The protagonists of the first meeting, which will be held at the WestinPalace in Milan, will be Patrick Moore (one of the founders of GreenPeace), Fulvio Lino Di Blasio (President of the Port System Authority of Venice and Chioggia), Gabriella Chiellino (President of the eAmbiente Group and first Italian woman to graduate in environmental sciences), the architect Marco Casamonti of Studio Archea, the Minister Plenipotentiary Stefano Beltrame. Chicco Testa will present and moderate the meeting discussing the issues of sustainability and the necessary investments as an indispensable choice to implement the ecological transition processes, starting from the Casehistory of the Port of Venice and extending the debate on post-Covid economic revival. “We are convinced” – said Patrizio Dei Tos, CEO of Itlas – “that we must accept the invitation of the new generations to work for a different world. We are equally convinced that rhetoric is a detriment to this different world. Sustainability means important investments, involvement of the market, creation of new machinery, new practices for financial statements that in every item tell of a revolution in progress “. The whole industrial chain is called to respond, because such an important effort not shared by the company next door would be useless; but we also need a new cultural approach that creates a different social pact in which we know that quality is no longer a benefit but a necessity and that therefore the consumer-citizen-user of services shares this path and supports it. To facilitate this effort – says Matteo Dei Tos, second generation of Itlas – “we have created Itlas-Sustainability which works alongside our research office to create opportunities for local, national and global comparison with men of culture, entrepreneurs, architecture operators, politicians, writers, intellectuals and journalists who cooperate in the creation of a completely different system from the current one. We feel part of the new world that has already arrived and we take responsibility for it for the part that belongs to us ”. The appointment, in conjunction with the Salone del Mobile in Milan, is therefore for 7 September at the Westin Palace hotel at 6 pm. The workshop will also be broadcast in live streaming on the Facebook page and on the Itlas Instagram profile.
